Come meet our Director, Ms. Eloma, & see our wonderful center
Welcome to the Wilson Lane Children's Center!
My name is Eloma Hettiarachchi and I am the owner and director of WLCC. I am originally from Sri-Lanka where I spent 29 years as a middle and high school science teacher.
After moving to the United States to be closer to my two adult, professional children, I spent the next 15 years as a preschool teacher. I noticed that most of the families that I came in contact with did not rely on multi-generational family support to help raise their young children and instead needed the support of a trusted childcare center to help bridge the gap. Today's parents are extremely busy, working long days, with little time off.
After retiring in 2017, I thought it would be a rewarding service to my community to open a childcare facility. I knew that I could leverage my life experience to help nurture children during their first five years of life; providing a bright, safe place in which a child’s physical well-being is supported. My goal remains to foster an environment full of unconditional love and respect so that all of the children coming through our Center develop independence and confidence in themselves.
My loving husband of 47 years is a tremendous partner in running the Center. You will often see him sitting at our shared desk, helping me with the important back-office, administrative work that keeps the Center running so smoothly.
Running the Center is my main focus, but outside of work, I also have five grandchildren that I adore spending time with. I also enjoy painting, knitting, sewing, and visiting the United States' many beautiful National Parks in my free time.
Thank you so much for your interest in the Wilson Lane Children's Center. We are so fortunate to meet so many beautiful families and feel blessed to play a role in your child's development during their early, formative years.
Warm Regards,
Eloma
